Silk Memory Garden: immersive audiovisual interactive experience for a garment archive
An audiovisual installation archiving melodies and animations in an interactive digital landscape tied to a garment archive—color, sound, and narrative immersion.
The Silk Memory Garden is an interactive exhibit blending textile design from HSLU, digital art, and immersive technology. A collaborative project with HSLU, animator Francois Chalet, and interaction designer Andres Villa Torres, the installation features projections on semi-transparent silk, creating a dynamic audio-visual landscape. Garments from HSLU, enhanced by animations and generative art, serve as active elements in the narrative.
Andres' swarm shapes respond to viewer interactions, adding an unpredictable layer of engagement. Through a touch interface, visitors can choose animations and garments, enhancing their connection to the artwork. The exhibit also includes a 6-channel auditory experience by Mathias Vetter, adding a spatial sound layer to the interactive garden. The Silk Memory Garden creates a unique journey for visitors to actively participate in an ever-evolving audio-visual landscape.
